Crazy vibration at speed....

Post by tegwin »

Having been away for a week, I jumped back in my car and shot off down the motorway yesterday....

The car drives fine up to about 75MPH when the car starts vibrating really badly...Its a medium frequency vibration...

The vibration is comming from the front of the car somewhere and was so bad at one point my teeth were banging together  You can feel it through the steering wheel, peddles and floor...even my passenger could feel it...

I have had my wheels balanced, the tracking checked and all suspension bushes inspected...but the problem is still there....

Has anyone else experienced this vibration?

The guy at the tyre place mentioned that it might be the gearbox...is this likley?

Any other things it could be?

Sticking brake possibly.

1. After the vibration occurs, stop the car in a layby or something.

2. Try and push the car forward, if it does not roll freely then your brakes maybe sticking.
