Well after driving a couple of times in the dark i can say i'm very happy with the light they give out!!!

Had xenons before on my mk5 GTi so in comparison to them i'd say the HID's don't give quite so crisp and clear a light as the xenons, and seem to give off more of a blue light!!! They're aren't as blue the pictures suggest but would think the 5000k will be more white and closer looking in colour match to the xenons!!

I have no complaints at the moment....other than wanting to change sidelights to more of a white colour......and the fog and high beam lights too for the occasions when i need to use them! :P Dont want an ugly yellow bulb distracting from the crisp clean white/blue light of the main beams!!!! 8)

Your gettting as bad as me :p No normal filament bulbs in my car now!!

Fog lights are one of a kind LEDs, sidelights are LEDs, and the high beams and dipped are Xenon HIDs. High beams are ProMax kits which are 55w instead of 35w providing 200% more light than the dipped beams we both have! haha :D

If you get an ultimate set, they have circuitry to avoid bulb warning systems - works a treat. Obvs the mk5s dont have it, but some newer ones do.

Basically- the bulb warning systems register it as a blown bulb as the incorrect wattage is there. HIDs draw alot less current than normal bulbs which also doesnt help the matter. The ultimate set corrects this and keeps the system all up to scratch :)

I know what you mean - im still like it! haha

got a good one for you!
Fitted my HID's last weekend (Ultimate kit as the Altea has bulb warning!)
they are amazing!
Anyway, like yourself, i got some led side lights as well because mine just look yellow now against the hid!
Got some led side lights anyway, stick them in, throws up the bulb warnign system! grr! So i think, meh, i can i live with the light on the dash, until a friend points out to me that after 10sec the car cuts power to the bulbs so there is no point!

Anyone got any ideas around this one?

Cheers!
