dont bother with the trial just get it done its a transformation to say the least
with a couple of other choice mods (exhaust and induction) my car now does 60 in just 5.7 seconds, fast by anyones standards (pulled a 5.7 at pod earlier this year)
it is the most easy, and simple mod i have had done, but the best at the same time, it suprises other out of its league cars to say the least
get it done, you will not regret it, and yeah apr is defo the way to go, custom code and revo usually produce about 180 bhp regardless of their web page claims, but give a bigger initial surge of power than apr software as the boost is just maxed out, apr is much smoother and progressive, using less boost and more of the engine, fueling and timing working in harmony, but still so much fun, providing usable reliable power all the way to the limiter at 7600 rpm were others die much earlier
apr on just a stock car will see about 190 bhp even though it claims over 200
my gti with turbo back miltek, inc sports cat and downpipe, green panel filter, pd160 intake and forge 007p produced 214 bhp and 199.1 at the wheels in january at awesome gti on their rollers
i have also ordered a forge intercooler to throttle body hose and a forge turbo intake pipe which should see a slight improvement again, fingers crossed
but yeah get it done, as mentioned its an insult not to

I've got custom code on mine and the torque curve of the engine is absolutley superb. Mine made 196bhp and 220ftlbs on the rollers recently.
Custom-code are not about peak bhp figures, but about improving the engine, and after seeing the torque curve my car pulled on the rollers i seriously impressed. Know a few other guys who have custom-code on various other setups and havn't had a bad word about them.
I'd defo recomend custom-code software for the Polo.
They'll defo be doing the remaping on my 2.8 24v VR6 engine for my MK2 aswell.
They are also doing some insane discounts on remaps at the moment until Jan the 31st, saving 30%!!! Just over £300 for a phase 1 map!!
There's a couple guys in Scotland (Glasgow and Edinburgh) who do custom-code aswell.
Get it done

Jeff GTI,
Please do not say others are worse by not showing us any dyno sheets. Maxing out boost etc, sounds very wrong to me. All of the brands are well known with good history behind them.
I would choose the one that's closest from your home + best service such as fine tuning.
There is no such thing as one 'best tune' that is why there are other companies out there apart from just APR. APR / REVO / custom codes / GIAC all very good companies.
Also you've beens stating that your car makes 210hp. Yes, in theory mine makes 158kw which is 210hp as well. However this is not the best representation. Please dyno your car and state your horse power at the wheels. Factory produces around 95kw, with REVO makes around 125kw. If you add dump pipe will produce 135-136kw at wheels. With intake should go even further. And if you modify boost settings and timing, you may look at 140kw with minimal mods. I am stating all at wheels not estimated fly wheel horse power.
No offence to you Jeff. Just been reading through this forum for past 6 months (without registering) and I had to say it.
Cheers
from NZ
as i think i put above, my car made 199.1 bhp at the wheels
as for the companys thing, fair enough, i just have heard about some bad feedback from others who have later switched to apr and said it was an improvement so i passed my hearings on, but i accept your point entirely and do not wish for this informative thread for members to be turned in to a dispute
thanks
jeff

I used the boy in Glasgow to do mine, at the time he was the only person in Scotland doing it, he's in Clydebankstanmoar wrote:Hi andy where did you go to get your map done? was it edinburgh
or glasgow or did you send away your ecu?
Cheers stan
They've now got a 'mobile' guy in Edinburgh doing it, not sure if he'd come this far north to save you a trip, but might be worth enquiring.
