I think its with the De-mister for the back Window buddy they come on with.

Yup....They are linked to the rear window de-mister....

Indeed - tho im convinced the element in my drivers mirror is dying :(

funny story about that....it already has one! And i didnt fit it. Whether it came out the factory like it, or the old guy who had it before me damaged it ill never know, but its got two stubby ones already :D

Nah Man lol The Passenger side Wing mirror is the stubby one, Its smaller than the drivers one, And alot of folk order the passenger from German ebay, being they drive on the right lol

REARLY ??? i always asumed that my passanger side one was a lupo one that for some reason vw decided 2 grace the gti with 2 diffirent wing mirrors!
Well ebay.de here i come lol

There prob the same to be honest, Alex will enlighten you as if they are the same.

But as long as you know what your looking for on german Ebay theres bargins to be had, and alot of the users have basic english too :wink:

got my front fogs inc grills for a fraction of the price in the UK from either a Dealer or VAG Parts :)

The stubby is ordererable for a dealer normally, providing you can find the part number. Its just a non-standard thing to order. The mirrors came in three different sizes 156mm 176mm and 186mm (ill check on that, but i know its close). You have a super stubby, stubby, and that big ugly mirror they stick on the drivers side.

Ill check etka to see if the loop mirror is the same as the olop when i have to open next :P

This mirror arrangement is also visible quite badly on VW transporters - next time you see one head on take a look lol

i got mine from eBay.de, cost 33 quid delivered!


iirc it's ALOT more expensive to get it through a dealer

It appear then that I'm v lucky in that mine already has a pair of stubby mirrors to begin with :)
Didn't know how the heated mirrors worked tho, so thats cool to find out :D
