Spark Plugs

Does anyone know the way there meant to connect up in what order my polo is the 1 litre W reg, i kno the longest lead starts on the left and work down to the shorted way but does the longest one go to A,B,C or D

theyre 1 -4 The numbers are printed on the distributor end of the leads. 1 =a 2=b etc 1 is the longest. the longest is clostest to the drivers side, shortest to the passenger.
