Sorry 'bout that! Just assumed as you'd posted the pics it was your car!

I've not seen the estate version, but I really would rather have the saloon. I used to have an '86 Polo saloon and I loved it! Stuck to the road like glue; excellent around roundabouts!

It would have been nice to change the rear lights, but it's not essential. Maybe I could get some custom made? I'll look into it more when I get the car I think!

Thanks anyway!

No problem mate,

I believe Polo-Teddy on here imported his saloon-rear-lights from either SA or South America, they are stock but look different (nicer!). Hard to get though.

I'm partial to the Variant myself, which has the same floorpan/internals as the Classic. Looks a bit more cult IMO. Some say it's just ugly, but I'd love one.

That one.

That looks quite nice to me. Although, I would still prefer the saloon as it's smaller. The estate would be too big for me I think. I'm only little! I'd look daft in that!

Thanks for the info on the lights; I'll look into that I think. Perhaps Polo-Teddy could point me in the right direction if s/he reads this post!

Yeah when I look at it I sometimes think it's a bit of a GrandDad car, but I can't help but wanting it. Says more about me than I'd care to admit methinks!

You'll be buying a flat-cap and some driving gloves next! Heh heh heh!

No, I think it's a nice looking car. I mean, if you need to have that much boot space it'd be one to go for. And, you could mod it to your hearts content couldn't you? You wouldn't have my problem of trying to find lights for the damn thing!

This is true, VW has the nicest looking lights (IMnotsoHO) as original parts - the all-red lights shown above, but only for the Variant.
