Recently i have noticed that when traveling normally there seems to be a strange whistling/whining noise coming from the somewhere at the front of the car. It is especially noticable when coasting or coming to a stop. Does anyone have any idea what it could be because im getting a bit worried by it.
Cheers
Mike.
Strange noise
Could be several things really,
Does it get worse/better when you apply the brakes?
Does it get worse/better when you press the clutch?
First guesses are a faulty wheel bearing, bad 'box, or bad brakes.
HTH?

your noise in polo
did you manage to establish what the prob was with the noise on your polo ?

skippy.
From that it sounds like the clutch release bearing, not too fatal and they normally whine for years before giving up, changes from a whine to a squeal apparently when theyre about to go.MikeG wrote:It appears to get a bit worse when you push in the clutch. I have standard wheels yes. I hope its nothing too serious i have no money.
