VW sat nav CODE arrrggggghhhhhhh

Post by rabbit82 »

Im going mad!

My polo gti's built in sat nav system is asking me for the unlocking code as i had to jump start the car a few weeks ago. Ive lost the code that i had in my service book and have turned the house upside down looking for it.

Now, ive just been to VW and they had a go at it... it took them 2 hours and they came back with a code that was wrong and they locked the system. Now there's no way to get the code.... What the hell shall i do?

Search the web...there will be companies out there who can get around the VW security system...

on the golf 4 radios if you enter the incorrect code 3 times it locks the unit out what we had do is leave ignition on and radio unit on for 30 mins to 1 hr and that usaly reset it so you can re enter the code not sure if it will work with yours but what is there to lose

Personally, I'd be wanting VW to sort it if they locked it out!

If VW locked it out due to incorrect codes, the problem falls on there shoulders so therefore they are responsible for rectifying the issue!

if you enter the code wrong 2 times it locks utnil you leave the system on for 1 hour. ITs not locked any more but the problem is that im still at square 1.

The unit is not in safe mode but is still asking me for the code which i dont have and VW generated the wrong code.

And there is no company on the web that unlock the original vw sat nav units, they could quite easily take your money but they tell you to go to vw as that is the only way

ring VW back up and tell them they gave you the wrong code? they may have made a mistake.

Or ring up a different VW and tell them the same thing, and see if they give you a different code from which the first branch did.
