i can think of loads of things to do bud
heres some pics of my car whilst i was building it and will get some for you of what it looks like now

Image
16v bumper
grille
cristals
coilovers
speedline light weights

Image
i went for some better seats as i thought that the 16v seats were a bit hard on the old ass
so i went for the sparo recliners
£395 each and £95 for the FIA sub frams demon tweeks
makes a different car

Image

K304 TURBO CONVERSION
i made this kit by lokking up other kits on the net
didnt cost too much but go the car from 90bhp to 130bhp
huge difference with a tt blower

yer no worries
it was a 1.4 that i had replaced the 1.0 with
later in the year the tappets went really back time for new head
1.6 head
3 ply head gasket from tweeks
the manifold was off a g40 which i modified to fit
by welding a flange on
the downpipe off a golf gti
turbo from a tt
custom oil lines
i used steel for the intercooler pipes as there was loads of it around at work
and an intercooler off a grand vitara
took a weekend to do with the 3 of us full on working
and well under £500
dyno at 128.6 bhp

3 ply head gasket from tweeks what is this ?
manifold to fit turbo.
the downpipe off a golf gti THIS From Golf 4 GTI ?
turbo from a tt Do you know which exact ?
steel intercooler pipes
intercooler off a grand vitara OR from something else maybe ?

head gasket is the sealing layer between the block and the head very important especially when fitting a turbo as u need to lower the compression with a thiker gasket( so i went for a 3 ply performance gasket £90)
i used the mk4 gti 20v downpipe well about 9 inchs of it
the turbo was a k304 off a TT the later TT but not the new one
an intercooler will all do ruffly the same thing depending on size its just this one was a good size and fitted nicely in the bumper
i didnt go for anything like cams as it was very experimental
with a big turbo on a little engine
i had never seen this engine turbo charged before and its the only one i know of
but its worked well i will b runnning it for a while and see if i get any problems its been going everyday now for 4 months so maybe other things will b added depending on a strip search lol

oh right sorry
it was a 1.4 gasket cuz of the piston size i dunno the brand
its like 3 gaskets
im not sure how much its at now
it can also make a difference with your ignision timing
which was another problem of many we had turboing a carbed mk1 golf with vacume advance and retard
you dont want to go too much lower just take the endge off it
if u get what i mean its a strong engine and seems to take it
its dont just over 3000 miles witht he kit on now

Awesome, didnt realise there was a turbo'd mk4 on here :D

Did you get it remapped or just leave it the way it was when bolted on!

Good on ya mate for doing that....if i was keeping my GTI i'd be down the road visiting you, hadning you over a wad of cash and asking you to strap one on :P

So how easy was it?

So how easy was it?
wasnt too easy but ive done harder
its the easyest ive done
well worth doin
it did run ok with the standard mapping
but i did take it to my mate at shropshire automotive
he soldered in a plate to make the IMOS removable on the main ecu board then used another imos chip that was fully remapable and used a 3D mapping program and played with it on the dyno
didnt cost me anything as he is a mate and it was good fun lol
thats all i know about the ECU i dont program them myself
