who's fitted cams to a 16v?

Post by dubster82 »

hi folks, anyone on here fitted some of DR Schricks finest?

what flavourds do they come in and what kind of differences did you notice?

My mate is wondering if he should go for it the basis being, he's worried about losing torque and moving the power band to a less useable place.

Any opinions?

fitting me schrick 268deg cam to my G60 made it a good un, tho did move the power band up a bit, made it soo much more fun :D and comparing the dynos to older ones pre cam shows the difference it made 8)

BUT...

mine is an supercharged 8v, his is n/a 16v.

please help.

quality and performance will be enhansed. depends what kind of cam you go for, the problem is that power comes more higher up the revs, but more power than ever, and yes, car becomes less efficient!!

the difference cams make can be felt more with a forced induction system like your supercharged g60, but the difference is felt, usually, engine changes by quite a lot. can't answer you on the question if you loose some torque, doubt it, but more power is definately achieved

i ment the performance and quality differences between the 2 cam kits, the one for £520 (268 degree lift) or the one from piper at around £200 (270 degree lift)

Don't worry dubster, I presume I am said mate

I am not going to fit them as I will loose torque, could go for some milder cams but why not keep the standard ones if you are just going to go for mild cams!

Have other plans so don't worry 8)

BTW Could this thread be any more confusing!!!
