6j wheels

Post by freshblood »

hello again, i have been looking around at wheels and found some ones i like on dubmiester for a good price,however they are 14" 6J, and i was wandering if 6J would be to thin. Do you think i should be looking more at 7 or 8, i do realise it personal opinion but i dont want them looking skinny. cheers!

I think 6js are too thin, especially when you look at the car from behind. If you want 14's then surely you should be thinking of a much wider stance ie 8j perhaps lol

I used to have 7.5j's and think the 7j's I have now look too small!

If you have budget issues don't be fooled in thinking getting the best you can is gonna make you happy. Take the time to find perfect rims and think about it for a while before purchase. In the meantime you'll be adding to your budget :idea: My original budget was £400 but spent 4months searching for the perfect buy. By then I had another £200 so spent £600 and have no regrets.

I've made the mistakes of buying a set of rims cos've my budget but always wanting something better. To get any descent rims you'll have to spent atleast £350-£400 in my opinion.

Hope it gives you something to think about. :roll:

cheers NOZ i had the sam budget but mine included the tyres and fitting and i have heard for desent budget tyres and fitting it about £150 dunno if thats right but that gives me a budget of around £250 for the rims, so i guess i should save up a bit and chill on the standards from what you have said..... i also mentioned on my other topic about mk2 and mk3 steels fittig on the polo as peple see to do that for the winter look and they ont seem to look too bad.

yeah with a bodget of £200ish you won't get anything remotely good looking unless used. You can get new steels for the winter look from the dealer. mk3 rims are ok for the winter look so best thing to do is save up durign winter and buy a descent set just before summer. You should have enough cash by then atleast.

i managed to get great performance falken tyres for £160 so getting budget tyres shouldn't be an issue. You can get ne wbudget tyres cheap as £25 each!

Put it this way, took me around 6months from starting to look for rims to putting the new rims on the car lol Went through a faze of wanting 3 seperate rims and keep changing minds and going through forums and sites for em till I rested on the rims JKM_GTI sold to me. Always keep an eye out for his sale thread. Gets a few gorgous sets for dirt cheap and sells them on. Good business and reliable guy. The rims I have a very rare and look more expensive then they really are. Got these at the mo from JKM_GTI;
