ABS light

Post by PDA »

Hi

The ABS light has start to come on in the missus 9n, comes on for a bit and then off when the car is restarted then back on for a bit a couple of days later. Any one got any ideas what the issue could be.

Cheers

I'd get it checked out with a Vag-com, find the exact fault

Could be a number of things, I think it also might come on when the pads are getting low.

Could be a faulty sensor

I don't think it will be the wear sensor on the pads as this brings on a different warning light - I think....

It could be a sensor on its way out or the ABS ring coming loose... on my old golf I had a similar problem and it was caused by a stick caught behind the front wheel getting between the sensor and the ABS ring.

VAGcom is accurate to a point but will only point you in a rough direction.
Good luck
