Ignition

Post by polo_dude »

I'm asuming that the Cigeratte Lighter is Ignition controlled as you can only heat it up when the ignition has started. Does anyone know which one of the two wires is the ignition wire on the block/plug for the cigeratte lighter?

Cheers

My wife's MK4 doesn't need the ignition on for the lighter to work.

Sorry guys, I've cleared it up with alex and the ligher is not ignition controlled, However i still think mine doesnt work when the cars not turned on, but i'm not entirely sure as i don't smoke. Therefore i've never used it. But i'll be dis-connecting it anyway so no-one can smoke inside the car  . However discussing it with alex, i'm going to junction the ignition wire from the headunit to the CarPC's PSU. So both headunit and PSU will work.
Thanks a heap alex!!

Cheers
