Broken Headlamp washers

Post by Mouse_GTI »

I just noticed today that my headlamp washers are no longer working. When I use the washers I can here a click coming from the fuse box. Will it just be a relay or something?

Yeah I just topped it up yesterday. I don't think it has anything to do with my leaking boot switch, although my boot sensor is now completely knackered

Hmmm, not too sure then mate. Hopefully it'll just be the relay or a fuse.

Don't mention leaks, I've just discoverd I have a nice wet patch in the passenger footwell, rear wash wipe is still squirting so it's not that!

Could be something to do with your air con. I also noticed my rear window heater is really crap all of a sudden!

Tom, I have had the damp in the passenger-side footwells too. Since I removed the carpets and dried them out thoroughly it hasn't returned though. I posted about it a while ago and like you, my rear wash-wipe still works, so I'm stumped! Imagine its related to the A/C system. Get it looked at when it gets re-gassed later this year.

Upcoming big costs for me are road tax (end of Feb) and I've just spent my hard-earned this month on a pair of 1.5" rear dishes for my RMs... :)

Yeh the damp in the passenger footwell could well be the air con.

There's a grommet up in the footwell which if removed (or it shifts), water will leak out of it, its waste from the air con unit.

I found this out cos at first, i thought it would i thought it would be a nice placed to run my powercable through!!! haha big mistake
