Lock Issues - help!!!

Trying to fix my central locking at moment, seem as tho the paddle was bent

just wonder how to remove the paddle from the other handles i have

or cant i?

pretty sure u can but does any1 know how????

Acemo u seem confused

what i need is to take the paddle form the new lock

and fit it to my old barrel so my key still works

I am just now sure on hot to remove the barrel from the new lock and fit it 2 my original.

Can any1 help?

i had the exact same problems on mine. but by looking at the pics your locks seem to be from a later model, is yours on a 98+plate? if it is im quite sure that only a vw dealer can get into the barrel of the lock, something to do with a anti-theft device.

When it had broke did you find that either locking or unlocking the door worked? This happened to me a few weeks back. Sorry to tell you but you prob got ripped off buying complete new handle as the paddle which has broke is only like Â£1.75 + VAT from eurocar parts. I know because I made the mistake of buying a replacement handle where the paddle was too long. So get a new paddle and use it in conjunction with your existing lock is best bet mate

The paddle removal isnt supposed to be done by the end user - its a VW garage job as its so god damn fiddly to get back together. VW locks use a free fall mechanism, which is incredibly difficult to reassemble due to the fact you have to tension a rather hard and fiddly spring whilst putting two parts (the paddle and the clamp) into place, without it pinging back. Id recommend getting someone who knows what they are doing to change the paddle, or it could just go horribly wrong

Btw the haynes manual has a breakdown of how it looks inside, it just doesnt tell you reassembly instructions.

Alright mate , i fixed this problem myself , you can get repair kits
from ebay , search for polo lock. To remove the paddle you slide a horse shoe type clip up an then should be able to remove parts. There is a explosive diagram on here somewhere.
It is as said above , rock hard to get the spring in but im quite tech minded and got it done with a few attempts.

Think i got thekit from EURO LOCK or somethin.
