Dear members,
I have a 52 plate VW Polo 1.9SDI (twin headlights) and need help in identifying where the control boxes are that VW say are at fault. The car runs perfectly but the temperature settings inside have a problem. When starting fom cold the temp rising as if set on high. It resets after 15-20 mins allowing the controls to work as normal and also the air con. Then it repeats the cycle at longer intervals. The only way to stop the car temp inside becoming unbearable is to switch off the fan and open the windows. Sounds to me like a simple thermister/ resistor which controls the setting. However, booked the car into VW and the fault is the HEATER TEMP MOTOR and the AIR RECIRCULATION MOTOR at fault and to the tune of £360+VAT. Can anyone identify where these are in the engine compartment and what they look like? I have a chance of geeting some 2nd hand but they need to know what they look like. Please help.
Regards
