Thrust sensor

does anyone know where this is? or where it goes and what it's job is i was told by VW i needed one at Â£120

when i found it at euro car parts for Â£30 just don't know where it goes

Thrust bearing maybe ?

If it is that , its in the gearbox and the box needs to come out to get it done ... about 2 hours labour costs on a ramp.

somewhere near the cambelt i think, something to do with throttle i think... if someone would care to elaborate
