16V Front Bumper Grilles Information

Post by iggy350 »

I thought I wolud just create a post to tell you guys who have bought a 16v Front bumper and found no grilles

I have decided to order them new from the VW Dealer. The total cost is as follows:

Centre Grill: £24 + VAT = £28
Lower Right Grill: £6 + VAT = £7
Lower Left Grill: £6 + VAT = £7
Upper Right Strip Grill: £6 + VAT = £7
Upper Left Strip Grill: £6 + VAT = £7
------------------------------------------------
TOTAL £56
------------------------------------------------

Give or take a Quid :P

I hope this helps some of you.

Thanks

Wouldn't really say its extortionatly priced but they are brand new and from the dealer, was expecting to be higher! Did you try GSF first before you went ahead with the dealers?

One of the slates on my centre grille has a chunk missing which really p's me off :(

well i havent bought them yet, u actually have to go into the dealers to order them, however i'll try them now :P

Thanks for info Nos

oh and the front spoiler for the 16v bumper is £40 + VAT if any of you was wondering.

Personally i dont think that the price of the grills is that much, but am getting the 2 strip ones filled in cos i think they look silly :P

Yeah, usually people fill in the upper vents which I must say is the best looking. I've opted to fill all of them except the middle big vent as most people choose the other option.

Will you be doinganything else like smoothing off the numberplate indent? think that really smooths the bumper off nicely.

Somehow 'Josh_polo' managed to get a front and back bumper aling with 16v lights n spoiler for £120 from the breakers  , some people are always lucky.

haha i know the lucky sod. But no i dont wanna fill the number plate area.
First Reason I cant afford and secondly i dont wanna make it look too fat from Stock.

My poor car was in a bump and all the front was pushed back. The bumper finally came last week after waiting 2 months for it. So i took the smashed up bumper to see the real damage. Had to go to the scrappers and get a new Front bumper reinforcement :P £15 and i had the pleasure of destroying the polo it was on to get at it haha.

So im now jus gunna get it painted this week and hopefully fit it this weekend. Need to pull my Fog lights forward tho. A long bolt and some platic pipe should do the job nicely. Will post the pic of my car when its back to full fitness :P
