Day at the POD ?

Post by more-bhp »

One thing I have never got round to doing is....

A RUN DOWN THE STRIP.....

Dont even know what you are supposed to do ...lol... apart from try to go fast.... loooool

Just never got round to it..

So POD experts.... whats it all about ??? When can we go...? I mean as a group in convoy... hehehe

Anyone know of any suitable days, costs, etc so we can have a fun day out ? Anyone interested ? Jef should be able to advise ?

I would also be interested in this. Would be good if it was in the summer tho when the weather was a bit better and hopefully somewhere central to most ppl?

the next vw show at the Pod is in April and it the GTi Spring Festival. I've been for the last 2 years with people from this forum and its a good day out.
chexk out the vw action website for the precise date, its £15 entrance and another £20 for unlimited runs down the strip!

hardly a master class, only did 2 runs myself last year haha, just happened to get good results, all you have to master is clutch control and not spinning, remember the start line is extremely slippy with all the old burnt rubber still on the floor

if your lucky enough to get a run after they have just set the start line on fire to burn it all away your laughing, as the tar is really hot and grippy and theres no rubber to slip on

I love going down the strip, done it a few times in my old Polo G40 and my old fabia VRS. It's a great rush! (crapped myself on my first run though)

Ill be there again this year anyways! Can't wait for it and hoping for another sunny day!
