Baileys DV30 Vs Forge007p
Whats the better manufacturer? And why is it better? Or they just the same?
Both are very good. Nothing between them. Both do same job.
As I understand the Bailey item never needs maintenance where as the Forge needs cleaning and greasing up every year or so..
But I enjoy the removal, and cleaning of the parts.
I prefer the Forge. I like the way it looks. The FMCL007P is beautifully made. It fits and sits just perfectly in its slot in the engine bay.
Add Forge TIP and Throttle>Intercooler pipes and a polished silver strut brace and the engine bay starts looking very nice
FMCL007P in either Anodised Black or Polished Silver for £80 delivered - I am also biased towards the Forge cos I sell them..but I sell them because I like them... hehehe

The Bosch one you have should be fine. Its a later uprated version which can hold the boost without problem.
Standard and uprated both sound the same - nice and quiet.
So dont bother getting a Forge or Bailey item..... but....
Call me sad but every time I open one of those little Forge boxes and handle the cool polished silver beauty I get so excited, really I do !!!
Its just reassuring to know that you aint going to loose even the slightest bit of boost through the DV....remember with the standard dv you have at the moment you have just a little bit of rubber holding back 1 bar of boost...hhmmmm ?
Go one Kenny have one - get a black one - seeing as you dont want bling....lol

yeah go one get one, but get a polished one, keep in with the crew, black ones touch on the engine cover and wear through to silver, but this does not show on a polished one the same
nice solid item they are, im sure more-bhp can sort you one out
im taking mine off soon along with my braces and having them mirror polished

Im not J but ill answer in his absenseKennyPOLO_Gti wrote:more-bhp do u not get the whooosh sound after u drilled ur airbox? Dont u get a lot of heat soak from the engine?
Heat soak wont be a problem as the holes are at the bottom of the air box, heat soak becomes an issue when you have an open cone filter of KnN construction replacing the airbox, sorry if im teaching you to suck eggs, im new to the forum and dont know everyones knowledge about stuff
Cheers Lew
Everything you say is spot on...
Its still really quiet with the holes.no loud whooshing..just more of a rumble sometimes....
But airflow is improved, as is torque, and its FREE.. no overpriced pd160 pipes to buy...
Remeber - Everytime you lift your foot of the throttle you dump a load of REALLY hot air into the intake, this pressurised air has only just come out of the compressor, so I wouldnt worry about a some air coming through holes in the cooler sides of the airbox.

Personally I'd say the Forge item has the edge, I had both on my old Octavia RS.
As previously mentioned they're beautifully finished and Forge are an excellent firm to deal with. The lifetime guarantee and free servicing parts are what tips it in their favour. Plus you can change the springs depending on preference/map/whatever.

mirror polished my 007p today and fook me she shines, also done the big round valve looking thing next to the engine cover, sort of near the dv and the battery, and both my forge braces, detailed my car today in so much depth its absolutely gleaming in, out, under the bonnet the lot, its gleaming, will try post pics tomorrow
get one kenny, its the choice of winners haha

I like the 007P because you can take it apart and 'tune' it with softer or stiffer springs
The OE bosch plastic thing was notorious for splitting (the diaphragm) and / or leaking boost, but as more-bhp says, they're slightly improved now, but still no 007P. Plastic (above a hot tubo!) versus solid metal? Metal wins every time
What colour spring do you guys use with the stock engine? Green?
