MPG Lately

Post by PHILIP1193 »

Hi Guys

My 1.4FSI is only doing about 37-40 MPG atm, i do 20 miles motor way driving a day a then a further 10 negotiating round abouts and down country lanes.

Does this sound about right, i use shell optimax as its the best for my FSI so iv been told.

I know you TDI boys are gunna wade in and tell me that tdi's rock and your consumption is aroudn 45-55 but were not all as fortunate as you to have one  lol

What are fellow FSI owners gettting atm?

Another way to look at it would be what does the book say your car should be doing? if you're not too far (far) off those figures then I'd say you were about right?

To my mind, that figure sounds a tad low for the TSi - going purely by what you describe as your daily communte IMHO.

Id check the air filter and sparks first - you need to check its burning right. Also, there is a small possibility your fuel mixture is out due to a dodgy sensor.
