argh

Post by pip_polo »

just had my brakes sorted (at last!!)

and whilst taking the front wheels, brand new like 3 weeks ago, there is major scrubbage going on.

the insides of my wheels are fcuk'd nearly showing metal.

is it worth still doing my -50 as i'll now need my tracking done anyway?

cheers

Don`t be too quick to sell your springs pip, lowering should be fine once you fix the problem on the car mate

It'll just be the tracking out mate wearing the inner edges of the tyres. Fit the springs now and get it tracked up, it'll be fine.

Don't get it tracked then fit the springs or you'll need it tracked again!

If the trackings out it'll wear through tyres in no time at all. When I had my coilovers put on I only drove 10 miles and the inside edges of my tyres were already showing signs of wear! Lucky I was binning them in favour of new wheels as soon as it was tracked!

205 55 16 is most deffo wrong.

205 45 16 is within 0.8% of the original tyre circumference

195 50 16 is within 1.0% of the original tyre circumference

It wont make any difference if you go -30 or -50, you'll still need the tracking sorted afterwards.

My coilovers are set at approx -80 I'd guess? As long as the trackings done it wont make any difference how low you've gone.

To be fair I wouldn't bother with -30 as it wont look that much different to standard :?

I think the standard sport alloys run 195 50 15 tyres don't they? 55's sound chunky!

I`m down -30 and there is a difference from standard without losing too much comfort :)
