soo. imagine:

you love your polo? you clean it just about every day? you polish it atleast once a week, or every 2 weeks. you just started moding it as your income has jus been stabalised and you can afford lyk £350 a munf to spend on it. and next week you was going to have it lowerd with coilovers and a full stainless steel exhaust. your polo is red and shiny as fcuk. you have alloys. youve just bought a debadge grill and fitted it, with the mk5 lights on the back, and a shiny rocker cover. your paintowork is absolute gleaming. going to look and sound great next week. your soundsystem is buzzing and workin great.

ANDDDD..

disaster strikes.

some mother f****r, walks down the side of your car with a key :| the drivers side has been scrathed sooo deep, it needs a total respray on half of the car.

and then your subb packs up the same day.

this happend to me yesterday.

now im thinking. whats the point in buying the coilovers and exhaust?? ill never get it back if i sell it with a scratch from the wing to the boot. and if i get it sprayed. ill never get that cash back wen i sell it.and what if they do it again?

soo. what do i do? sell the car. take the alloys off and sell um seperate. get alll the cash back i bought it for. orr. get it sprayed. and carr on as normal? lose out on about £500 in total. cus ill get the 16v bumpers and so on before i spray it.[/i]

ill get ome pictures up when i can get the diggicam off me sister.

just thought i would let you know that if not all the people then definately most of the people who mod and end up with real nice show cars and that will never ever get the amount they spend on it when they go to sell it

Ah man that sucks!!

That literally is one of my worst nightmares,

If it happened to me, i'd pay for the repair, and gradually get back into the game,

It's a tough choice though mate!

When things go wrong, they really go wrong together! You can't say by reparing it you won't recover the cost when by modding it you certainly won't recover your costs either!

Good example my cuz owned that pug 306 that was in Top Gear, Max Power etc. Spent £35k and 4 years later sold it for £8k. You'll never recover costs in this game.

So as your a lucky man having £300ish every month to spend on it, you might as well fix it up and gradually get it to the level you want it.

This one here which looked a bit different at the time of glory. Was in July's issue of Max Power 2006, won many awards, featured in 'Life and Lyrics' and the famous Top Gear.

Looks and sounds much better in real life trust me. Makes your ears bleed a mile off by the nitrous'd 3.0 V6 with a straight through exhaust system ending with them silly 8" pipes. Thats the max power look unfortunetly.

But back to the point, it shows by modding your not really gonna lose financially the more you put into any car yourself, might as well carry on mate.
