Big engines!? Wats a good swap?

hey just wanted to know wats the biggest engine anyone yous kno has slammed into a wee polo?

im going to hopefully do a project car this year, for next wen im totally finished and wanted to know the biggest engine someons put in it.

might try and beat it, want my polo to be unique engine wise and then il customize the outside to suit, cheers peeps

people have done the 1.8T engines from more modern VAG cars quite a lot. its a very popular choice as they are quite readily available!
the VR6 engine has also been done, thats probably the biggest engine i've seen in a 6n.

realistically speaking, your best bets would be the 1.6 16v from the 6n2 gti, or the 2.0 8v/16v from an ibiza.
another fairly uncommon option would be a g40 engine, may not sound alot but these engines are darn quick and can be made even quicker with uprated charger and shortened pulley and a few other tasteful bits.

don't just go for the biggest engine you can, if you stick a heavy vr6 in the front, the car just won't handle at all!
and with more power comes the need for bigger brakes, more grip (so bigger wheels), better suspension etc etc
