help!!!

Post by randomage »

this morning, i was reversing down a hill, and all of a sudden my brakes became rather ineffective and the brake fluid light started flashing with a beeping noise. the result was me rolling gently backwards into a car. i got home (it happened leaving my girlfriends) and checked brakefluid levels, and all was fine. the beeping stopped as soon as i was moving forwards again.
also, my speedo was flippign a little as well. the needle would drop suddenly and then go back up to where it was meant to be. i hadnt adjusted my speed.

any ideas? if its expensive to fix i need to know quickly... :(

Sounds like you either have a sensor issue, or an ECU fault has developed. It really needs to be plugged into VAGCOM for a diagnostic to check nothing serious is up and determine the cause of the issues you are experiencing.

Not sure of your cars age, has it got abs, check the fuses on top of the battery as they can have corrosion on the terminals, possibly f5 and f6.

yeah fine, first fault ive been worried about on this car, the only other problem is that both windows are buggered (common with 6n) and a large dent/scratch down the right side (my fault :D my driveway is a swine to negotiate)
