I have picked up a silver W reg polo gti 68,000 miles on the clock for £4,000 previous audi a3 owner had the car around 3 weeks and loved it, well impressed untill...you guessed it my gear box blew up yesterday, it was hard getting it into any gear and there was a slight whining too but just went completely been reading through some of the threads and looks like its a common problem which is a shame to spoil such a nice car hopefully my warranty from the dealer should cover the cost tho and i should be back on the road soon pics to come

Hmm, no wonder he got rid of it after 3 weeks. Shame you got the wrong end of the stick (screwed gearbox) but you should be happy in the sense that at least you don't have to worry about it going in the future when it has gone already Welcome to the forum!
