Will this stuff work? - Anti Friction Metal Treatment

Post by LiverpoloGTi »

My current gearbox woes have left me scouring the net for anything that could help me restore some confidence in my next/refurbed box, I came across this stuff. (i know im probably clutching at staws  )

Kalimex K-Tec Anti Friction Metal Treatment
http://www.kalimex.silkhosts.org.uk/aca ... tRange.php

Firstly, If it does what it says it does, then do you think this would be worth adding to my gearbox oil?

Secondly is it likely that this stuff can do what it says it does?

Thanks for any opinions,

Im always very dubious of any magic potion that claims to do this that and the other.....

It claims that it reacts with the surface of the gears to make them smoother....what a load of goats balls!

IMHO..

Get really good quality gearbox oil and change it every service....

Dont drive like a cnut and all should be well....

I dont think that I drive my car too harshly, but I dont drive it like an oap either the way I see it i bought a car badged as a GTI and shouldnt have to worry about giving it a bit of lick as and when I feel like it.

Im usually a bit wary of products like this but what it claims sounds possible to me and like i say im feeling desperate at the moment.
