Bus vs. Train/Plane

Post by Mouse_GTI »

In an argument with my mates at the moment (we had this same one 2 years ago lol). Basically we are going to Download Festival @ Donington (this will be my 6th year in a row) and we have the choice of either a bus from Aberdeen, which costs £40, or Train (Aberdeen to Edinburgh)/Plane (Edinburgh to East Midlands Airport) for £80. Now £80 is cheap for train/plane as it was £140 last year and we ended up getting the train straight there for £120. We have done train/plane before and it was great, only took 8 hours, plus got a beer at the airport. Took the bus a couple of years ago and it was crap. It left at 5am and took 12 hours to get there (broke down on the way), plus it was all hot with no legroom.

Basically they are being cheapskates and want to get the bus. They know how good the other option is, how do I persuede them. They can easily afford it!

book the plane, tell them you will meet them there, and remind them that they'll be getting up at 5am and you'll be getting up at 9am 8)

no matter how cheap they are, they will appreciate the lie in

Driving a nice car to a music festival is NOT a good idea,

Your likely to get some sort of damage to your car, if not extreme paranoia, just ask shantybeater!

There's enough good bands to see. As you get older you tend to spend half the time just getting pissed and chilling out. Campsite is banter :D

Yeh true, I'm a Reading boy myself and love the campsites!

Will be interesting if Download goes ahead too though.

What are your main band interests this year Mouse?
