Biodiesel / vegetable oil

Post by david burton »

So, who's using Biodiesel? Vegetable oil?

I've heard some good comments, good reviews, good performance but perhaps slightly less MPG.

And apparently the PD engines should not run it 100% in the cold months. SOmething to do with starting being a troublesome point.

I'm very tempted to run it - especially at 20p a litre less than normal diesel. Plus there's a filling station on the way to work (I think).

ANyone like to comment??

Problem with biodiesel is, its like engine flush therefore your engine will always be in tip top shape but it means frequent oil and filter changes.

I had a good article about home biodiesal, if I find it I'll let you know.

Part from that give it ago and see if from your experience its better in the long run, also are you going to be making it yourself?
