Fitting Angel Eyes? Help?

Post by racerjonzo »

hey, finally got my angel eyes, just need to fit them.... had a wee look tonite but was to dark to do much. the angel eyes have quite a few red and black wires coming out from the bottom, and the connection for the front indicator is different?
can any one give advice into this?
and/or has any one installed angel eyes similar to these?

much appreciated, want them on as soon as possible, then will take pics and post em up :)

again thanks :D

I had the first style FK angels ONE-PIECE, which I had to get wired up professionally by an electrician cos I didn't have a clue

Anyway, if yours consists of 2 rings and a smaller light in the corners then you should have a black and red wire for each of them. Therefore you have 3 sets to wire up with the rest as you fancy. I had mine wired so the rings came on with the side light. You can have only them as side lights which look better, so wires are without connectors for your choice.

The indicator bulb holder on mine was too big for the actual slot in the cluster. I think its the same for all the old models; not sure about the new ones. I had to cut out a bit of the plastic off to get it squeezed in (never had a proper fit, just enough to stay in there).

Logically all you do is find your side light wires and link them wires up to them. Put the red ones together and attach them to the side-lights red wire (probably another colour) and the do the same witg the blacks. I'm no good with the wiring, still don't understand whichs which when I look at them; sorry.

Getting an electrician to do the wiring is best if they use proper connectors etc.

nah its really easy to do mate, the way i did it was wiring up the rings to the side lights, i got one of those things that lights up when it finds a current, about £3 from any car shop, i pulled the plug out of my lights and turned teh side lights on then u just jab the electricity finder into all the holes untill it lights up; thats your sidelights live. So u get sodler all three of your reds together and all three blacks togetehr from the angel eyes. I'm pretty certain the red is live, so you wanna cut the wire whic you know is your side lights wire a little way up from the plug, and solder this to your reds from the angel eyes. You then gotta do the same with the earth (black wires), i think i found my earth by connecting up the live then jabbing the black into every hole untill it worked, theres probably a more technical way of doing this lol. Either way, the worst you'll do is a blow a fuse. Have a crack mate, if you do something wrong just reconnect it all how it was. heres a quick diagram for ya; if you like ill get a photo of it in a couple of days. good luck mate

Nope you've explained it properly Joe, just how I said. The diagram shows everything properly so even i'd understand now lol

I chopped off a triangle shape from the plastic, not the lugs. Still can't get it in most times. I just try and get one lug in to hold it secure so doesn't fall out. God knows how they manage to get the size wrong on them lights and still get away with it saying its P&P unit.

Cool might invest in some bluey white bulbs then, but was thinking about just wiring it so the halos come on as sidelights then the full works with main beam, sounds most popular and looks best i think...
anyway finally got a pic up here with them on it, just in my sig...:)
wat do yous think,... apart from the immediate notice of height like a 4X4 :P lol :)
