Rear Speakers, 1.2e

Post by peterbuk »

Hi, i have upgraded my front speakers and have 6x9s, wouldnt mind putting a set of 13's in the back, but obviously have nothing to hold em, im wondering what do i do to hold these speakers, and i take it this would be simple to run these into the amp in the boot?Cheers pete

You could make an MDF adapter, or some speakers come with plastic fittings.

So you;ve got 6X9s in the front and are looking for 6.5 coxials in the rear?

there no real need for coaxial's in the rear if you have 6x9s
either run coaxial's all round and a sub or stick to your setup

plus there is nowhere to mount speakers in the rear of a 9n 3rd unless u put them on the back shelf

^ Not so actually. The SE and Sport/GT models had speakers in the back door cards/side panels. It was also an option i think on other models.

Ive got everything needed to fit rear speakers to mine from VW. New grilles to replace the false ones, inner plastic panel to hold the speakers, sound director things and also the speakers. Decided im not going to fit them since no one ever sits in the back of my car and ill be going with uprated comp's in the front and an amp/10" sub combo in the back :D

If you want the setup id quite happily sell it all as its just taking up space/gathering dust!

oh well they must ahve brought that out after they released the polo as i got speaers fitted by an audio company and vw said they didnt sell mounts for the 9n at the time- end of 2002/early 2003
however if you have 6x9s there is still no real need for rear door speakers
