Cup Holder

Reading through haynes says you need to remove the climate control unit. Is this true? Cant see where the lower clips are holding it in place are

Anyone on here replaced the cupholder before? I know that you have to remove the CD player etc.

i have replaced the cup holder using some help from a thread on this forum before. i will try and find u the link.

however, on that thread, somebody claimed the two clips that hold it in pkace were both on the stereo side... i.e. removing the gamma +cd player or cubby, will give u access to the clips. i found in my car, one clip was on this side of the cup holder, but one was on the other side (i.e. next to the passenger airbag sign if u see what i mean). i tried every which way to get to that side of the drinks holder, taking the whole thing apart,, but it really wasnt possible! there was ALSO one clip under the drinks holder.

in the end i ended up breaking the cup holder whilst it was in the dash with a screw driver, then removing the smashed up bits, then fitting the new one..... not recommended for the feint hearted!!

My cup holder seems to have clips in different places

The 2 in red are obviously fairly accesssible. But the 2 in blue arent as i dont want to take out all the buttons in the centre consol really and ill be damned if i can get access to the one on the side of the passenger airbag
