Car alarm/central locking question

I have a mk4 polo which does not have central locking. I am looking to buy a car alarm in the near future but was wondering if i can still get one that says 'operates your central locking' as i do not have central locking. Do i have to buy a central locking kit before i can fit an alarm??

No. You can just fit the alarm as normal. The central locking part is only active if you have it fitted anyway.
