Help Needed with Flush Fit Valves

They're of this variety ..

The bottom flat ones, can be seen in this picture on the car..

The big question is .. How Do I Pump Them Up???

I've been trying to get my head around this and I still don't understand..

These are the tools I got from the previous owner..

Can Anybody please help!

Do you not screw the long valve onto the short one too pump them up?

looks as if you undo the screw type head being careful, then screw in adaptor, pump up as normal then remove

but this is just a guess
