polo tdi mpg info needed

Hi all, i am on a lookout for a 1.4tdi/1.9tdi/1.9gt-tdi polo 5 dr, the main thing i want to know is the mpg figures. I would be very greatfull if you could help me out here before i buy one, thx kind regards MTB

hi mate

best thing to do is look at www.parkers.co.uk for the figures and that's what you'll be aiming for IF YOU DRIVE IT SENSIBLY!

1.4 - 62mpg
1.9 100 bhp - 58mpg
1.9 gt - 52 mpg

to be honest, I get those figures at 65-70mph on the motorway, or cruising to work on A roads.

Do not expect those figures around town.

And I'd say there was less of a difference between the GT and the 100bhp 1.9 tdi.

personally I'd go for the best example you find in the 1.9TDI range. don't worry about MPG figures too much because you can always adjust your driving to suit
