I'm definitely going to have to have a look at GTi Festival, I'm really disappointed with how bright the stock xenons are, especially compared to the HID kit I had on the old Polo.
The only thing putting me off is the blue-iness of the 6000k bulbs I've seen in real life.

I don't think these look very blue tbh, which I'm happy about.

There's an Alfa Romeo in Bedford with HID's 8000k at a guess and they look ridiculous!

i'm getting some 6000k bulbs for mine soon!

James - the fogs look great, am also going to do this at some point. I was under the impression the housing may melt though under the heat? Any sign of this?

also, where did you position the ballasts?

yeah i was worried that they would too, but if you think about it, HIDs are low temperature bulbs arnet they? plus there not on for a LONG period of time? mounted the ballast near the bottom of the headlight and the other one on the battery tray i think it is

The light is so powerful from HIDs that a fair bit of heat is generated just from the power of the light...not necessarily from the bulbs. Thats why I didnt put mine in the fogs in the end.

well the heat from the normal bulbs will be far greater than the HID's as there low temperature correct me wrong? but like i say, its not like there normally on for a great deal of time
