Hey guys,
Not sure if this is the right place to put this but, i'm 17 in may (been kitting out the dub if you've noticed) and i've been scouting around for quotes. Best i've had is from Kwik fit (I was shocked lol). This is:
Fully comp £250 excess
Personal accident, windscreen and courtesy car cover
Free MOT worth £44.95 and a 10% discount at Kwik-Fit Autocentres
Parents Full licence on named driver
UK provisional
For £763.09
Is this a good price? I've been getting quotes in excess of £1400 from other companies, surely there's a catch?
Cheers,
Daz

this is s**t i've looked everywhere on the internet for insurance
and just tryed kwik fit, which is one of the cheapest,
im 18 now and have a 2001 mk5 1.0 polo
with £500 excess it came to £2388.68!!
thats almost as much as the cars worth!! why are all these companies taking the p***?
anyone know what i should do when my next yr of insurance comes around?
at the moment i managed to get on the mothers policy and that brought it all down to £1300..
i told that quote to ppl and they still laughed in my face :'(

Well i've changed my mind now. I'm going to go with Direct line who quoted me £1000 for a provisional Third party Fire&Theft, so it's £150 more than Quinn, but they only wanted £1250 fully comp annual for passing which is a hell of a lot cheaper than other companies and it means I wont have to go the trouble of messing around paying admin fee's to cancel my existing policies

What about confused.com? Gives you lots of quotes. You really need to just set aside a day to ring every company and then play them off each other. Damn modified, that's well good for a GTi. Hopefully be looking to get one when i turn 21 in November this year so fingers crossed I'll end up getting decent quotes.
