Whats the deal with me getting my car looked at under warrenty even tho its been APR remapped?
Dunno what software VW use but am sure they might be looking at air dlows etc, will they not pick up that it has been tweeked?
Ma car is not well
been reading a lot on air filters at the moment and if they are looking at air flows they might be thinking it's a MAF problem, which appears to be really common with K&N filters due to them being heavily oiled. Apparently you can clean the MAF yourself with a cotton bud and some sort of solvent or alcohol that leaves no residue
Heard that the MAF can go when runnin a K&N filter. But the problem i have is when the turbo spools up theres a high pitched skreechin/fluttering noise then stops as soon as i take the foot off the accelerator.
Swapped with another DV lastnite and it was just the same. Chances of both DV being burst are slim to nil! What bout the wastegate? Anyone got any thots on that?
i got told if your using a open end filter just use a stainless mesh one cos it doesnt need to be cleaned - so no oil
on my black one i ran a stainless one and it seemed to be alright!
kenny - vw cant pick up you have it mapped - its only when they take it for a test drive they will think 'oh bit nippy this is' but if they cant prove it they cant do anything.... but this is what i have been told....
I got a stainless steel one on mine cos a that oil problem with others and its fine, dont tell em bout remap they wont know unless they update ya engine ecu with the latest software and then its back to standard LOL
A wont be tellin them anythin. They will be takin it out for sure to hear the noise but hopefully its no a dick that takes it out and keeps his mouth shut!

this is a good point worth noting - over on the VW transporter forum a few have said that VW put on the latest ECU software to a few and wiped any remaps that were existing....
