97/98 1.0L POLO OIL LEAKAGE

Post by c.l.w.design »

I have the above polo, it has recently been serviced at this point the oil was changed. For about 2 years there has been a slight oil leakage, I have had a mechanic check it and they couldn't find the source of the problem, I know its not the head gasket. I jet washed the engine and about 3-4months after this the oil came back, what could be the cause? The leakage seems to be on the bottom right-hand side of the engine.
Thanks

Hello mate, i can't really help with your problem, but i'll move this to the correct section. you have a mk4 polo, thus why your not getting many replys!

probably ur valve seals. if ur car blows a bit of smoke when u start it up and the exhaust fums smell funny it will prob be that. Not always a bad thing to have oil on them tbh means when ur car starts there is oil there all the time instead of a few seconds later. Less wear on them then. Or so a mechanic told me

Iggy, I don't think that would make an oil leak to the outside of the engine :?
