Uk polos.net newbie. Looking for some advice and mods!

Post by polo1.9TDI SPORT »

Hi, Ive been looking at this site for a few weeks. Dont know how i havent see this before!Great site full of loads of great info and people by the looks of it!
Right,
I have an 06 Polo 1.9TDI Sport in red.
At present the only current mods have been, Front spoiler and an ecu remap. I have some skirts somewhere too!
I have been looking at the gloss door frame trim and new gti grille. Apart from that i need some ideas. Will post some pics so far too.

Hey, thanks ever so much!
Not lowered, well not yet. Not sure whether to do it or not really.
I know i want the GTi style black lights front and rear i think!! Want those really soon.
Been trying to find out whether you can install the front lights and grill without removing the front bumper?
Cheers a lot. WIll post pics over the weekend, they wont be photoshoot quality, car is so dirty!!

you can install the grill without removing the bumper, just take your time, but the lights are a bumper off job im affraid, they were for me anyway , having all the headlamp washers setup behind and just under them,

however, i dont know if non winter pack cars have more room between the crash bar and the bumper to get a hand in???

Ah cool. The grill will be done then. The lights, well you guys know more than me. So will take your word for it. If the bumper has to come off i think i will have to consult you guys on that, and have elsawin running whilst dismantling the front!
I didnt know if the winter pack cars are/were available in uk, ive seen pics of the headlamp washers. But never actually seen them on uk polos. maybe just not concentrating enough!!
Pics coming soon too!
And a lot more questions!!

Hey, Yer can see the jets now!
Cool. Never seen them before on a uk model!!
I have put some pics up hopefully with this post!!
A couple show my boot mat, one of interior and one from front!
The boot mat shows the vw Racing logo. So far the only real thing i have custom made for the car!! A lot of my time was taken up doing other peoples boot mats and not my own!
Questions will be coming this week!!
Dave
Just realised pics didnt work.
How do i get them on???
arghhh. . SOrry sounding lame. i think my brain has frozen over, just come in from vaccuming the car, and getting rid of the snow![/img][/list]

you need to use img tags mate

[img]insert%20the%20url%20of%20the%20photo%20here[/img]

you need to have the photos hosted though on the internet first at somewhere like ptotobucket

Ok cool , cheers guys!! I will get that sorted asap!!
Right, i have a quesiton, belive it or not. I really want to change my twin downward pointing exhaust to a chrome tipped one or something similar to that of the gti. I really dont have the cash to get a custom exhaust or likewise. but was wondering if there are any tailpipes that could potentially be used? If not i will wait till i have the money.
Also i am looking for a new handbrake handle, i wondered if there is one with red stitching in it? Mine is the normal grey leather like one with grey stitching. Had real diffculty trying to find any. The same goes for the gear gaiter. Looked at getting the Gti one with red stitching (ok i am obsessed with red) But VW want the chasis number and this and that. Just wondered if there are any gaiters out there to look at.
Any help or ideas greatly appreciated. Then will post pics!!
I was also looking into air filters inductions kits etc, but have no idea where to start really. I dont even know if being diesel makes a difference as to what filters to get, not so clued up on the mechanical side im afraid. Learning but slowly.
Thanks again for all your help, much appreciated!

Hey, so far had it tuned to 130-135 bhp on a remap. so that gives it better response adn the turbo definatley kicks in.
Could anything else be done ?
Thanks

you shouldn't need your chassis number to purchase the GTi gaitor. Try ringing vagparts, they'll give you the part nubmer and price.

I wouldn't bother with an exhuast tip, if your planning to get an exhuast at some point just wait for that.
