Baby failed the M.O.T

Post by Petrol_Head »

My baby failed the M.O.T,

I spent 3 hours cleaning my car and taking off my FAT exhaust and putting the standard exhaust on, i even changed both the front tyres.

But Failed!!

I have a feeling the station did this on purpose, and tried to play me as a MUG!

they said the hub bearing needed changing!!!

they said parts were £38
and labour would be £82

they also ssaid i neede a new tyre at £45

and needed headlights beeing leveled £15

and some other nonsesense.

they mananged to rack up a bill of £225 inc va.t.

I told them to stuff it !!!!!!

doing it myself, but then the arsses are saying im going to have to pay for another m.o.t as it has gone off site!!!! what bull, aye!! [/img]

ALSO forgot to point out the bearings was quoted at £39 for both... i got them for £12 at French German Swedish!!

headlights being leveled  yea I doubt that, the headlights will re-automatically adjust even if the previous one was aligned up, and the new one was facing down, it would reconfigure to the position set by the roller switch... If it needed leveling it'd be because of a crash in which a deformation was caused to the bodywork like a knocked back bumper etc. And body work wouldn't cost £15 so they seem to be chatting out there asses

Try another garage if possible one with good recommendations.

The garage sounds like they're having a laugh! Under VOSA MOT rules, you're allowed to remove the car from the garage and return it within 10 days and all you need is a partial retest. Most garages don't charge for the retest. Top marks for doing it yourself!

Christ they sounds like a right dodgy place, you should tell them that they missed it and could of potentially have caused an accident had the wheel fallen off.

On the plus side, my Polo passed it's MOT flying colours :D Got the Cambelt, MOT and Servicing for £285 8)
