A CTR won't fit in my garage without hassle, and that is a must, otherwise it would have been considered.

Chris, the cup chassis cars are great fun to drive as Si will confirm.

I am not interested in tuning or modifying, that is why I am after a 172 cup as they are so good out of the box. No ABS is the only slight worry!

I am having trouble finding a 172 cup with climate right now. There were only 139 uk registered 172 cups with climate control, 106 of those mondial blue and 33 silver, so no wonder!

Travelling to see one on Saturday if it is still for sale, I hope it's as described as I really need to get a car this weekend or I'll have to start hiring something, which eats into my capital.

Well I hunted high and low and just couldn't find a 172 cup with climate, with FSH, no mods and within my budget in the two weeks I have been searching :( .

So, instead it is bonjour to a 182 with both cup packs. not quite as raw as the 172 cup and I still prefer the looks of the 172, but the 182 is still a very capable and great handling car, just a tiny bit more sensible.

good luck finding your next car mate, not a massive fan of the 172/182's but thats my opinion, its true alot of cupras are modified but thats because they are so ridiculously tunable & you see such gains for little money! I felt the same about buying modified cars but best thing i did was buy a cupra already modded!..never looked back! saved me 1000's..and the car owes me practically nothing in 6 months!

Type R's are definately a good shout...dont jump into anything, get alot of test drives and make sure you are 100% its for you!
