I don't know the price of them new, but it's definitely worth searching scrappies for one

Does it sound like its blowing, or is it rattling?

The heat shield on mine cracked off and was making an ungodly noise......A few minuits with the welder and its not going anywhere!

sounds like its blowing i think im probably best taking it somewhere to get checked out because there is a couple of clips missing off the centre section too. hopefully they can just mend it.
any place best to take it or the told quick fit just as good?

If its just a hole, or some clips missing it should be fixable..

IMHO, I wouldnt bother with quickfit....Find an exhaust specialist..We have a couple around here that have all the equipment/parts to make exhausts from scratch....Might cost you a few quid more, but they stand a better chance of getting the job done properly!

9 times out of 10 its the flexi-joint that goes on 6n and 6n2 cats, if you can be arsed you can buy a flexi-joint for like 20 quid and weld it in, or you can just buy a new cat. I got mine from cats-direct but their prices have gone up a bit since then...still a s**t load cheaper than buying from VW

i hope it is the flexijoint certainly a lot cheaper then a new cat. there is a used cat on ebay for £70 but who knows how used it is, could only last a week so aint gunna bother with that. thanks loud for the info.
