Garages rubbishing your car
Just collected my car from Sidcup having fifth gear sorted out on my new gearbox (Kept popping out), they said they couldn't find a problem and all was working fine, yeee right!!!. Anyways, went to pick it up and I got "your cars well dangerous mate", and you've based that opinion on what exactly. Apparently, my car is dangerous because she scrubs, "WELL OF COURSE SHE WOULD IF YOU FEKKIN HOOOON IT ABOUT", ALSO, i am putting some serious strain on my gearbox because she is lowered 80 mm, WTF?? I can understand the bearings, prop shafts and maybe other suspension components under more strain than normal, but how exactly is the gearbox under strain. Anyways, gearbox is running sweet as, I've dealt with this company before and had no probs, I'll think twice next time.
Which place is that in Sidcup I would like to know, as I recently got a polo from a small dealership called supacars ltd/justpolos.co.uk in Sidcup, next day crashed it as tires lost grip around a basic bend under the speed limit, turns out the tires where under legal tread depth and the guy who sold me was like NOPE there fine trust me look at the MOT which never seemed to have seen this problem either (and it was just MOT'd), how it passed the MOT I do not know!
As for the strain on the gearbox seems not right, if your wheels where rubbing etc you'd be straining the clutch more than the gearbox and causing wear on the clutch way before the gearbox could receive any damage.

It was a place called Volks Apart, http://www.volkswagenspares.com/. As for the gearbox, my thoughts exactly, during normal driving she doesn't scrub at all, only when she is thrashed or go over a speed bump to fast.
Yea I know who your on about they are a bunch of c**t in there down foots cray I know who your on about. There a joke, what they wanted for a CV joint second hand with 3 months warranty was the same as buying it brand new from the dealers.The_phat_controlleruk wrote:It was a place called Volks Apart, http://www.volkswagenspares.com/. Glad to see you got 5th sorted mate. As for lowerage messign the gearbox up
WTF, i'm even confused how they concluded that!
I heard all sorts from all kinds of people rubbishing my car simply because the car doesn't cost much and I spend money tarting it up. An certain accident amanagement boss argued the same when I wanted parts back from my previous polo. He didnt grasp the fact some people ain't so well off to be driving around in flash, mercs, porka's etc so we make do with what we have.
One garage asked me, "Isn't it illegal to modify the engine or suspension?". Now for them not to know the answer was worrying enough so I took the keys and drove out knowing not to ever trust them with my car!
