G40 Engine

Post by KarlM »

How much would you be looking to pay for a full G40 engine to fit into a 1.3cl?

i know these have the same mounts so its just the electrics.

Any other advice would be much appreiated :)

in the region of £600-£900 for the engine/charger/gearbox & loom from a write off.

I think if you're looking at picking up the engine, box, loom, charger, intercooler etc. from a breakers expect to pay at least a grand. There was an engine etc. in a breakers in Doncaster recently - I'm not sure if it's still there, but they wanted £1500 for all the bits for a conversion. If you're lucky you might be able to pick up an accident damaged car for a bit less - I'd say you're looking at £900 or more realistically though.

would be cheaper to buy a complete g40.. least then you could rape it and sell all the panels, kit, glass, interior, wheels........

You could make back a lot of money if you took the engine out, then parted the car out.

Buy that one!! I'll have the drivers door, and the mirrors!
