Thinking about getting the car detailed...

Post by K.I.T.T. »

As it says on the tin...

Hopefully over the next couple of months, I'll be getting the front bumper resprayed following a girl reversing into me at uni...possibly the votex kit too. The car should be a minter apart from the fact that when you look closely when it's bright, I've got loads of swirl marks and the odd very faint hairline scratch. Am considering getting it detailed after the work to bring it upto scratch, although it really depends on how much it costs and what the results are like as I've never done it before.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Cheers,
Ash :)

I've considered getting mine detailed even though its only 1 year old!! :x

Price wise your looking at about £150+ for pretty much a complete paintwork detail!!!

Go on detailingworld and search for local detailers to you, then give them a call for a quote!!!

As above, I got a rough idea of a price from a guy I know that does it.

He said full correction starts from £150 upwards.

Do a bit of research and buy some decent products and try it yourself!

Haha, would love to do that Tim, although I have no experience whatsoever with a machine polisher...knowing my luck, I'd end up making a hash of my car :(

Fair enough, you could get the whole car machine polished for around £80 (that's the quote I've got anyway), washing, claying, polishing and waxing all just takes a bit of research, the right products and patience

have to say, when i clayed my polo for the first time, i was dead scared! does seem a little odd taking a bar of clay to a car. But no i don't think twice about it!

Will probably be the same for taking a machine polisher to a car, completely crapping yourself the first time you do it, to find out, oh, the paint looks so good!!!! i want moree!!!!! :P

But fair play getting it done by a pro! at least you'll know the job will be done properly!
