I just tried to post this once and it hasnt appeared... so im trying again hopign that it will show. Eitherway luckily i had just copied it to post on other forums! Yay!
Oh and im not using the search function because im A:Lazy B: Jet lagged (just got back from america) C: erm.. lzy? But please help... lol.
So! Plastic welding. where the hell can i get it done. I now, finally, have enough money to finish the polo. Well, get it back on the road anyway. And i need to find somewhere that does plastic welding asap. I need the car on the road for next week, ideally speaking atleast. So does anyone know where i can get a plastic welding done in the essex/london area. Im willing to travel but my mk2 Golf is on the brink of dying aswell where i havent had the money to repair the thrust bearing. Been saving for the polo. I miss my baby to much i need to drive it now!!!
Yeh so does anyone know where i can get this done?? Links to sites, phone numbers, addresses anything!! It needs to happen.
If your wonderign what its for then ill tell you: I have a 6N2 bumper that i purchased of a dude on here a while back and i wanna graft it to the 8v bumper of a 6N to get that sexy sexy look. And it will happen!! If it comes down to it im only gonna both it together and i actually want this car too look nice now so im not going with the rat thing anymore. Gonna do that to the golf as its more of a state already lol.
Any help very much appreciated people

Saw this same post in the Mk5 section and was gonna ask if you'd upgraded.
Don't know much about plastic welding to be honest, buuuut, my brother in law did some amazing work on a Merc 190 bumper. The ends had been completely snapped off, he repaired it with fibre glass, bloody amazing job. From the outside you can't see the join, obviously the inside tells a different story.

Wouldn't fibreglass eventually crack at the slightest impact or overtime anyway? glad your not going rat on the polo! I'm in the same position as you but hopefully get metal welding if can.
You know Ricky the silver Bolf owner from Eastern? Well his sprayer works in a garage that can do that kinda stuff cos he said he'll talk to him about my front bumper. Guy works in Barking so you should be able to make the journey. PM Ricky known as 'grande gti' on edition and dub london to get a contact number or something.

Excellent result there nos thank you very much i shall try in the morning if i think of it. Im gonna have a real good look at the bumper tommorow again. Maybe cut the uneeded part off and a leave a 2 inch overlay. Gonna see if theres anyway i can do it myself but ill defo give that guy a shout.
Yeh i though fibreglass wouldve shattered aswell but now i think about it...
My mum used to have horse jumps made of fibreglass and you couldnt break those things for s**t. They were so flexible. So maybe its just a job of piling it on lol.
