Chaps, I'm sure you can help but I'm not sure about how to remove the front door speaker cover on a Mk5 Polo GTI. Will I need to remove the whole door panel or just the round mesh piece?
Also the reason I wish to do this is because the speaker on the passenger side keeps playing up every so often, losing sound...could it be a loose speaker wire connection? Cheers!
Removal of front speaker from a GTI
its gotta be the same as doing it on a normal MK5 polo. If it is and all you GTI owners please correct me if im wrong, then look at this post i started a while ago. polo2k was quick to help me out on this one:

The intermitted sound is now starting to get on my nerves, I'm going to have to brave it and give it a go...I think I'll wait until the weather turns warmer though...if I don't try I'll never know! (just hope I don't bugger up the door panel!). Oh, how do you undo the door pins? are they simply screw in?
I'm running a Sony Minidisc player so I don't think it is that powerful to blow the speaker away! Loose connection is probably what it may be..I hope...if not, oh well looks like a new set of speakers will be needed!
Cheers!

Thanks, I assume the clips were at the bottom of the door card and that the screwdriver with cloth was used to prise it apart? How many clips were there and whereabouts are they located?
So, I could have blown the speakers? (well, one, singular!), am I right in thinking that they are 6.5 inch and 13cm if I was to purchase some new ones?
Cheers chaps!

mine were 170mm, (but either should fit)
there are 4 clips I think, if you lie on the floor and look up at the bottom of the door you should spot them. I put the screwdriver near to the clip and then turned the screwdriver through 90 degrees to pop the clips apart.
when it all goes back together just give the door card a thump in the right place and it'll click in
the speaker wires are constantly being bent every time you open the door so over time that breaks the wire strands. you might need to patch in a new wire
