My clean last week

So put polish on, then spray detailer on then rub off?

Recommend any detailers?? Somethin ave neva looked into before but always wantin to try new things

I got the collinite stuff and have to agree it is a bit of a pain to rub off the residue. Think i may have left it to dry to long!!

When the better wether is round i'll give the car a thorough clean. May save a few pennies to get it detailed properly!!! Swirl marks i hate!

yeah kenny thats right mate, just use original megs quick detailer, and wipeoff whilst the quick detailer is still wet

Quick detailer wont help you with the collinite.

You've probably put it on too thick and/or left it too long to cure

I've never had problems taking it off, but you need to apply it really thinly, a little on a foam applicator goes a long way, it is quite temperature dependant, so if you're doing it outside on cold panels,it does make it a lot harder to apply thinly, in a warmish garage ideally. If you do two really thin coats it'll be much easier.

That statement proves you are fundementally wrong even though its an opinion, you arent LOOKING at the car, youre just thinking the lower the better and not even using your eyes if youre saying any car looks better lowered. Its just not physically true, there are design rules, ideas and factual based entities which make things look good, which make you even like the shape of the polo. Yet you are disregarding these and just thinking lower it better!

Anyyyyway I wont change your opinion im sure.

Hey, I haven't lowered my car only because I don't have the money right now, but the ride hight on the standard polo's are way too high and look silly because they are high, so lowering a bit will make it look much cleaner.

Kenny's GTI came with a good ride height. Looked good and worked great. However, it still had a large gap above the tyre. It didn't look bad, but when lowered to the right amount it makes the curve of the wheel and the wheel arch match perfectly and it looks awesome. Any lower and yes; it does look squashed.

My pet dog could have pointed that out to me (you'd be surprised with his intellectual abilities).

I don't believe it takes a surprisingly conceited 'designer' asking lots of rhetorical questions; pointing out and lingering on one point on the car, and then not even talking about the subject in hand, (the wax Kenny just used) to point that out to me.

I have seen your other thread on this forum filled with your dribble about the ride height of the polos here etc etc, and to be honest the general consensus is that a lot of us are bored of it. I think you should take your business over to clubpolo, who's forum is not so defined and is also filled with similar amounts of dribble.

I will put out some my own creative dribble for the expert 'designer' on this forum:

1) The look of the car is not 'totally spoilt' by lowering the car.
2) The look of the car is not bad when not lowered.
3) The look of the car when lowered is not effected by the large lights.
4) The car handles better when lower (lower centre of gravity).
5) The car does not look out of proportion lowered.
6) The wheels do not look tiny when lowered.

Man that was boring.

good to hear kenny, glad i could give you some useful detailing help.

i finished machining mine today for the second time and sealed it by hand with zymol ... results = WOW

just the windows, wheels and tyres to do and its all finished ... for now
