my dads range rover was shunted and it was a cat e w/o (not economically repairable). they gave him 2k or summat for it, n he bought it back for 300. took it to a bodyshop, fixed it, its on sale again for about 2k good as new, 1k spent!

It was cat d back in 02. It now has a current MOT and tax till October.

A Cat D on this age polo was probably cos the price for repair wasn't worth the cost cos the car so cheap, therefore just writing off the car instead. So the fact its a cat D doesn't mean it totally loose its value much, not to that extent anyway.
